Mary Ann Sieghart & Annabelle Williams - Women and Work Two leading journalists on why women lose out at work
Despite legislation, quotas, and many advances in how society views women, they continue to face workplace equality challenges in 2021. Mary Ann Sieghart is a former Assistant Editor and columnist at The Times as well as presenter of many programmes on BBC Radio 4 and her new book, The Authority Gap, explores the unseen bias at work in our everyday lives. She will be joined by journalist and former columnist at The Times, Annabelle Williams, author of Why Women Are Poorer Than Men. They will look at patronisation, the struggle to be taken seriously by colleagues, and challenges to professional expertise. In an environment where women do 60% more unpaid work than men, they explore what both men and women can do to bring about real, long lasting change. They will be talking to Caroline Sanderson.
