Sir David Spiegelhalter The Art of Uncertainty
Subtitled Living with Chance, Ignorance, Risk and Luck, the UK’s ‘statistical national treasure’ assesses the chances of what might happen in the future, showing how it can help us think more analytically about everything from medical advice to pandemics and climate change forecasts, and explores how we can update our beliefs about the future. Along the way, he’ll explain some fascinating stats from football results to why two properly shuffled packs of cards will never be the exact same order. He is currently Chair of the Winton Centre for Risk and Evidence Communication and on the board of the UK Statistics Authority.
