How do I buy tickets?

All tickets incur a booking fee to cover the costs of our external box office. There will be a £2.50 charge to post tickets.
Tickets cannot be ordered by email.

What do I do if I have lost my tickets?

Emailed tickets can be re-sent to you by clicking here. Please be sure to click “Manage my Bookings”.

For lost mobile or postal tickets, please click here to email Ticketsource with your details. TicketSource will re-send the tickets.

During the Festival, please go to the Festival Information Desk in the reception of the Crowne Plaza and we will be pleased to assist.

What facilities are available for people with disabilities and how do I reserve a place if I have additional needs?

The Festival welcomes visitors with disabilities. Tickets are available for a person with a wheelchair users or a person with a disability who can only attend with the help of a personal assistant. The wheelchair user or person with a disability pays for a ticket and the personal assistant attends free of charge. Tickets for wheelchair users will automatically have a space reserved for them and their personal assistant. If you have a disability, such as sight of hearing impairment or use a walking aid, email us here with your booking reference once you have booked your tickets and we will reserve a space for you. Please make yourself known to our stewards on arrival.

All our venues at the Crowne Plaza have step free access and there is an accessible toilet.

What is Refund Protection?

This is run by XCOVER.COM thorugh Ticketsource, our external box office and not by the Festival, and you can choose to take out refund protection when you book tickets. Full information, with a copy of the full terms, is sent out with your booking confirmation email from TicketSource.

Why do we need your email address?

You will need to provide an email address during booking so that we can send your tickets and contact you if there are any changes.

If you are booking by telephone (0333 666 3366) you will need provide your email address so that we can contact you about any changes.

We will not add you to our mailing list unless you specifically agree and we will not share your email address any other organisations.

How long are the events?

Events usually run for 1 hour unless stated in the programme.

Can I have a refund if I can’t come?

Tickets are not refundable unless the event is cancelled by the Festival. We cannot exchange tickets. We suggest you buy Refund Protection as above.

Do I need to print out my tickets?

We use scanners to scan tickets on entry to an event. You can print out your tickets if you wish or show us the ticket on yo ur phone. Please have your tickets ready to present to the steward when you attend the event.

How do I join the mailing list?

You can join our mailing list here and we will keep you up to date with news and information.

Can I bring my dog or pet into the Festival venue?

No animals are permitted into the Crowne Plaza Hotel except assistance dogs

Where can I park?

There is free parking at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on a first come first served basis. Please register your car at reception on arrival or you will be fined.

Do you keep waiting lists for sold out events?

Each event has a waiting list and you can join that. We will be in touch if tickets become available and contact the top of the waiting list downwards in date order.

Can I buy tickets in person?

Do adults attending children’s events need to buy a ticket?

Yes unless otherwise stated. Children under 2 and babes in arms who do not require a seat do not need a ticket.

How old does a child have to be to attend an event on their own?

Children under 14 years must be accompanied by a responsible adult (over 18 years of age). We cannot accept responsibility for unaccompanied children. Children over 14 may attend alone but must be delivered and collected by a responsible adult and are not the responsibility of the Festival.

Can I buy a signed copy of a book by an author appearing at the Festival?

Books are available to buy from our pop-up Waterstones shop in the Crowne Plaza Hotel and authors will sign copies of their books after each event. Books featured at the Festival and those signed at earlier events will be on sale at Waterstones, 8 High Street. We request that you do not bring copies of books for signature not purchased at the event.
