SOLD OUT Ellie Stevenson WORKSHOP Discovering your Story: researching and writing your family history
The writer and writing tutor will show you how to explore your family history, create a record to pass on and write a compelling family history narrative. You’ll learn about the research process including how to keep records and organise your material, explore the many resources available, learn how to incorporate historical context, use a timeline and build a family tree. She’ll guide you through the ethical and legal issues to consider when sharing material, consider the options for sharing family history data including blogs, a website, social media and publishing, and develop a plan for your project, with a timescale. By the end of this workshop, you’ll have gained the knowledge and skills necessary to research and write your family history, and know how to create something precious to hand on to future generations.
NB Disabled and Wheelchair-user tickets:
Please note that, because workshop capacity is limited, carers can attend events to assist a disabled person but cannot participate in the workshop.
