Jane Garvey and Justin Webb The Art of the Interview
The great TV interviewer Michael Parkinson once said: 'Confidence has a lot to do with interviewing - that, and timing.' But what else is it that makes a good interview? Is it the ability to combine the tenacity of a prosecuting lawyer with the sensitivity of a therapist? We turn the tables on two leading interviewers who know - and both of whom have been faced with interviewees from every walk of life from Prime Ministers to pedestrians. Jane Garvey is the former presenter of Woman's Hour and now presents Life Changing for Radio 4. Justin Webb is the longest serving Today programme presenter and has reported from all over the world in his career as a BBC correspondent.
